Sony Incorporates Skype on its PlayStations

Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporated (or SCEI), makers of the PlayStation product line recently integrated Skype features into their PlayStation systems. This upgrade is available for Sony’s PSP (PlayStation®Portable) series.
With Skype, unit owners can communicate with all other Skype users worldwide through the internet. They can make unlimited free voice calls to all other Skype users. They can see who’s online through Skype presence. They can also call any landline and cellular phones worldwide using SkypeOut. With SkypeIn, they can opt to receive calls from landlines and mobile phones anywhere. This last mentioned feature however requires one to purchase Skype credit. A full feature description is available onsite.
PSP owners can get this upgrade via system software update; the first schedule was end of January. A successful upgrade will let you see the Skype icon in your home menu. PSP users who do not have an account with Skype yet may register through their PSP online.
