Cell charger of Toshiba using Methanol fuel

It has been said for some time that Toshiba was going to launch the first ever methanol fuel cell charger, but now, that has been materialized. Otherwise known as DMFC, direct methanol fuel cell technology is first used by Toshiba and is breaking many barriers.

Methanol fuel cell charging technology can be used in electronic gadgets including cell phones and digital cameras. The working principle of this charger is as follows. Water, methanol and air will combine to produce electricity which can be used as a driving force for cell phones, digital cameras or other electronic gadgets. Only a little of carbon dioxide and water vapor are the two bi-products of this reaction and this is the reason why direct methanol fuel cell technology is the safest greener source of energy production. The fuel can be refilled within seconds, if needed and this can be counted as a great advantage of DMFC technology.
